Farah Khan Reviews Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane’s Dupahiya, Praises Its 'Simple Plot'
The series takes place in a fictional village called Dhadakpur where locals are celebrating the area’s crime-free record.
Dupahiya, Prime Video’s latest family entertainer, was launched earlier this month. The show, starring Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Shrivastava and Shivani Raghuvanshi, has been receiving praise from viewers. Recently, renowned filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan also watched the series and shared the review with her followers. She praised the show for its simple plot and the actors for their flawless performances.
Sharing the poster of the series and still of Gajraj Rao from the show on her Instagram stories, Farah wrote, “Have been watching Dupahiya since this morning. Already on Ep 6. What a beautiful light-hearted show. Simple plot with pleasant characters and great humor. Best wishes to the cast and crew."

Dupahiya was created and executive produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel, and directed by Sonam Nair. The series takes place in a fictional village called Dhadakpur where locals are celebrating the area’s crime-free record. However, a new bike that Banwari Jha (Gajraj Rao) had purchased for her daughter’s dowry goes stolen seven days before the marriage. With the wedding’s fate hanging in the balance, family members and the bride’s ex-lover embarked on a search for the bike.
Speaking about the film, Gajrao Rao had told Hindustan Times, “The moment Salona (Bains Joshi, executive producer of Dupahiya) sent me the script, she asked for my thoughts on it. Within just 3-4 days, I read it and immediately responded, saying, ‘I had to be a part of this- no second thoughts. Everything else-logistics, negotiations-could be figured out later, but this project was a must for me.’"
Meanwhile, Farah Khan is currently hosting and judging Celebrity Masterchef with Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar. The show features a stellar lineup of contestants including Tejasswi Prakash, Rajiv Adatia, Nikki Tamboli, Gaurav Khanna, Usha Nadkarni and Faisal Shaikh. Recently, Farah also choreographed the song Zohra Jabeen from Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming flick Sikandar. With her excellent sense of aesthetics and storytelling, her involvement in the song has already raised fans’ expectations.
