Garo Sero Research Institute Reporter Allegedly Dropped From Kim Soo Hyun’s Press Event

What was meant to be a straightforward press conference held by Kim Soo Hyun, quickly turned into a dramatic scene on March 31. The Queen of Tears actor had stepped forward to address the rumours about his past relationship with Kim Sae Ron, but his moment was interrupted. Reporter-turned-YouTuber Kim Se Ui, from Garo Sero Research Institute (Garo Sero for short), arrived at the venue – only to be shown the door soon after. Earlier that day, Kim Se Ui had already stirred up controversy by posting a video titled, “Sex Offender Kim Soo Hyun Press Conference."
The title alone made waves, making it clear he had no intention of staying silent. By 4:30 PM, the scheduled time of the event at Stanford Hotel in Seoul, he was on-site and livestreaming the scene.

The livestream suddenly froze as he was escorted out, leaving viewers hanging. A short while later, he resumed streaming from outside but chose not to add any commentary.
Despite being cut short, Garo Sero’s stream had already drawn nearly 30,000 viewers, reports Koreaboo.
Meanwhile, during the press conference, Kim Soo Hyun directly addressed the rumours. He admitted that he had dated Kim Sae Ron in the past but denied any wrongdoing.
“I didn’t date Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Except that both of us were actors, we were ordinary lovers like everyone else. We met with good feelings, and we broke up after a while. After that, we weren’t able to contact each other. Like most lovers, it was hard to keep in touch after breaking up," he said.
He also explained why he had previously denied the relationship when Kim Sae Ron posted a photo of them together during the airing of his 2024 drama, Queen of Tears.
“We dated for about one year, four years before Queen of Tears aired. But at that time, I denied our relationship. I fully understand being criticised for that," he added.
Sharing why he kept quiet at the time, he said, “When Queen of Tears was airing, I had so much to protect as its lead actor. What would have happened if I had admitted to a year-long relationship? What about the actors, the staff who were working overnight, and the production team who had put everything into the project? What about our agency’s employees?"
Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team is taking action. They have officially filed a defamation lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family and Garo Sero Research Institute, as per Koreaboo.
