Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s NTR 31 to go on floors this month

Jr NTR fans, the wait is finally over! After months of speculation, the superstar is all set to kick off filming for his highly anticipated project with KGF director Prashanth Neel. Mark your calendars because the cameras will start rolling this month. Speculation about Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s collaboration has been swirling since 2019, but fans finally got confirmation when the film was officially announced on August 9, 2024.

Now, after years of waiting, the much-anticipated NTR 31 is reportedly gearing up to begin its filming. A recent report by Gulte suggests that the film, tentatively titled Dragon, will begin its first schedule soon, lasting around a week to ten days. However, Jr NTR himself won’t join the shoot until March.

There was plenty of buzz around the film, given Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s jam-packed schedules. While Neel is busy with Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam, Jr NTR has Devara 2 and War 2 lined up. During Devara promotions, Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva hinted that Devara 2 might kick off in 2025, giving the actor time to wrap up War 2 before diving into NTR 31.

Rumours are swirling that Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas and Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth could be part of the film. However, the makers have yet to break their silence on the cast or finalise the shooting schedule.

The pre-production for NTR 31 kicked off earlier this year with a formal muhurat puja. The much-anticipated film is set for a grand theatrical release on January 9, 2026. In a recent interview, Prashanth Neel revealed that the film is a period drama centred around immigrants. Promising high-octane action, it will reportedly showcase Jr NTR in a rugged, intense avatar.

Jr NTR is also gearing up for War 2, where he joins Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani in YRF’s spy universe. The highly anticipated action thriller is set to release on August 14, 2025.
