HYBE Faces Major Backlash For Ignoring V’s Solo Achievements In BTS 7 Moment Visualiser
The clip offered a brief glimpse of the septet, heightening anticipation for what’s to come.

After a long wait, BTS is finally set to reunite in June this year as all seven members complete their mandatory military service. Adding to the excitement, BigHit Music surprised fans on March 17 by releasing a teaser trailer for the BTS 7 Moments 3D Visualizer project, hinting at something special on the way.
While the cryptic teaser was surely a moment to celebrate for all the ARMYs as they were anticipating what was to come, it was not devoid of criticism either. The eagle-eyed fans dissected every frame of the 25-second-long video and found out a disappointing detail. The teaser was seemingly meant to celebrate the individual artistry of all seven members. However, fans noticed an issue– while every member was represented by the cover image of their solo projects, V, aka Kim Taehyung’s image, was noticeably different.

Instead of using one from his solo album or anything related to his music, the agency used a totally unrelated picture from a magazine shoot, which left the fans fuming. In no time, the outraged ARMYs took to social media to once again criticise HYBE, BigHit’s parent company, for sidelining V’s achievements. Given the wealth of music content he has released, fans were baffled as to why the company decided to go forward with an unrelated image rather than showcasing his artistry. Notably, this is not the first time HYBE has come under fire for its treatment of V, and with the latest move, the controversy continues to grow.
Taking to the comment section of BigHit’s post on X, one fan said, “You’re a big company, yet these are such rookie mistakes. How could you miss this and use a magazine shoot instead of a proper photo from Tae’s Layover? At this point, it’s hard not to question whether this is being done on purpose."

Another quipped, “Sorry, not buying. If you can’t represent all 7 members’ music equally, you’re being unfair. There’s no pic from Layover here."
“Atp, I’m convinced the way Hybe treated layover like Voldemort cuz he’s not working with Hybe team… like this is so weird, other members photoshoot literally from their music but not Taehyung," wrote a different fan.
Someone else penned, “Hybe’s mistreatment of Taehyung will never get better. Continuing with Hybe would be the biggest mistake he could make in terms of his solo career. If he signs for another 7-year contract, he’ll be wasting his potential. I hope he doesn’t work with Hybe as a solo artist when he returns."
Speaking of Kim Taehyung’s work front, the BTS star made his solo debut in 2023 with his album Layover. Despite being in the military, the K-pop idol released two singles, White Christmas and Winter Ahead, in December last year.
