Is Mahesh Babu Hiding His Look For SS Rajamouli’s Next SSMB29?

South Superstar Mahesh Babu’s next, tentatively titled SSMB29, directed by SS Rajamouli is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films. While the details regarding the other star cast have been kept under wraps, several reports suggest that the forthcoming project will be set in the African jungle and Mahesh Babu’s character in the film is inspired by the Hindu deity Lord Hanuman. Therefore, it would be interesting to see the actor’s new look for Rajamouli’s next directorial.
Recently, during the promotions of the film Devaki Nandana Vasudeva, actor and Mahesh Babu’s nephew Ashok Galla shared some details about the Spyder actor’s new look for SSMB29.

When asked if his uncle would come to the promotional event of Devaki Nandana Vasudeva to offer his support, Ashok said, “He is quite occupied with Rajamouli. Even if some images of him have surfaced, and he has a heavier look now, right? (Gesturing to his hair and beard) He’s trying to protect his look for his fans and audience. He wants the first look to be a banger…so he’s staying silent."
Recently, a picture of Mahesh Babu surfaced on social media with his wife Namrata Shirodkar and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wherein the actor was seen sporting long hair and a heavy beard look. While some fans speculated that his look takes inspiration from Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, others went on to laud his appearance as being on par with Keanu Reeves’ John Wick look.
However, during his recent outings, the Pokiri actor was seen keeping his head covered with a cap and wearing sunglasses.
Backed by Sri Durga Arts and written by Vijyendra Prasad, known for RRR, Baahubali 2, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Eega and others, the makers will reportedly begin shooting for SSMB29 in January 2025. Further deets about the film are yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu was last seen in the Telugu action drama film Guntur Kaaran opposite Sreeleela. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film also featured Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The film received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike and performed well at the box office.
On the other hand, Rajamouli’s last directorial was RRR featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. The film was a blockbuster and also won an Oscar award for the song Naatu Naatu. It also featured Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in significant roles.
