Veteran actor Manoj Kumar passed away on April 4, 2025, due to age-related illness. His last rites were held on Saturday, April 5, in Mumbai. Several industry celebs arrived to say their final goodbyes to their beloved Bharat Kumar. Salim Khan and Kumar belong to the same era. Khan was present at the funeral, accompanied by his staff and son, Arbaaz Khan. Prem Chopra also paid his last respects.

Manoj Kumar, 87, breathed his last in the wee hours of April 4. His son, Kunal Goswami, confirmed the news of his death and told ANI that the actor passed away peacefully. He said, “My father, Manoj Kumar, passed away today at 3:30 AM at Kokilaben Hospital. He had been feeling unwell for a long time, but he fought every hurdle with resilience and grace. He peacefully breathed his last by God’s grace and Sai Baba’s blessings. Sia Ram."

Manoj Kumar was one of the most celebrated actors of the 1960s and 1970s. He was known for his intense acting and direction in films centered around patriotic themes. Some of the notable works from his illustrious career include Shaheed (1965), Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), Patthar Ke Sanam (1967), Woh Kaun Thi (1964), Kranti (1981), and several others. His dedication to portraying nationalism on screen earned him the title ‘Bharat Kumar.’ In recognition of his contributions to Indian cinema, he received the Padma Shri in 1992 and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015.
