Preity Zinta found an unexpected way to pass time during her jet lag and no, it wasn’t binge-watching shows or movies. Instead, she spent two hours engaged in a conversation with an AI chat bot. Sharing her experience on X, Preity spoke about her firsthand attempt at interacting with a digital bot. She described her interaction as both “scary and fascinating."

“I’ve been jet lagged before thanks to a hectic travel schedule but this time it’s a bit different. How? I feel a bit silly saying it but I spent over two hours having the most fun conversation with Grok3!" Preity wrote. She went on to express how real and engaging the chat felt. “It felt so real & raw that I almost forgot I was talking to a machine. It’s both scary & fascinating! My compliments to the makers of this amazing AI chat box for a job well done," Preity continued.

While she was obviously impressed with the interaction, she also expressed her concerns on the growing reliance on chat bots. “I sincerely hope people don’t gravitate to AI chat boxes when they are bored, sad or lonely & shun human interaction because no amount of technology can or should replace real human interaction," Preity concluded.

Her post caught the attention of social media users who shared their varied reactions in the comment section. One user commented, “Isn’t it kind of scary how much AI is used every day now. Even in many movies, they use the concept of AI taking over human jobs and procedures. Also hope you’ve been well! 2 hours of talking with AI sounds like a dizzy day."

Preity responded by sharing that it was her first time using AI for a conversation and explained how her priorities have changed since becoming a mother. “It was my first time using AI for a conversation! Off late, I’m trying to be a present mom – so whenever I’m with the kids I avoid using my phone completely, so I don’t miss any moment when I’m with them. Having twins is a lot of work especially if you live outside India," she wrote.

When another user suggested robots could keep her company, Preity had the quirkiest reply. She said, “OMG! Itne bure din bhi nahi aaye. If one invests in quality relationships then hopefully one will not need a robot for company," and we couldn’t agree more.

Meanwhile, some users speculated that her post was a “paid promotion." Clearly annoyed, Preity set the record straight, saying, “What’s happening to people on social media? Everyone has become so cynical. If one talks about their first chat with an AI Bot then people presume it’s a paid promotion."

“Let’s keep it real folks & take people for who they are & not who we think they should be! Maybe we all need to take a chill pill and just be happy to communicate with each other," she added.

On the professional front, Preity Zinta marked her comeback to big screen after six years with Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Preity will star alongside Sunny Deol in the film.
