With the release of Jailer 2’s teaser, the actor once again proved why he is one of the best in Indian cinema. Reprising his iconic role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan, Rajinikanth delivers yet another powerhouse performance in this highly anticipated action thriller directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
Adding to the hype and excitement around the film, the makers have dropped a special behind-the-scenes video on Sun Pictures’ Instagram page on Friday, January 17. The clip offers a glimpse into the making of the adrenaline-pumping teaser. In the caption of the post, they wrote, “Witness the explosive making of #Jailer2 Announcement Teaser."

At the beginning of the video, the 74-year-old actor was seen arriving at the shoot’s location dressed in a white shirt and brown pants. He could also be seen discussing something with the director and another person. Further, the BTS video gave a glimpse at some of Rajinikanth’s iconic actions, such as flipping his glasses and his signature slow-mo walk, creating more buzz about the film among the actor’s fans.
As the video plays further, Rajnikanth goes into full-action mode with his stoic expression, decimating his adversaries one after the other while Anirudh Ravichander hides in the corner. The behind-the-scenes video was shared parallelly with the actual teaser of Jailer 2, thus giving the audience a look into what goes on behind the camera.

Furthermore, the video showcased a blood-soaked look of Rajinikanth and cars being blown up on the sets. The BTS clip left the viewers intrigued and excited about the action thriller.
Jailer 2 is the sequel of Jailer, which was released back in 2023. The first film revolved around a jailer named Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan, who was seeking to apprehend an eccentric drug smuggler. It became the 6th highest-grossing India film of 2023 and the highest in Tamil language. Jailer featured Rajinikanth in the lead role, alongside Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Sunil in supporting roles.
Speaking of superstar Rajinikanth’s work front, the 74-year-old was last seen in the action drama Vettaiyan opposite Amitabh Bachchan (in his Tamil debut), Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, among others. In 2025, the veteran actor will be seen in the upcoming action thriller Coolie.
