Actor Sebastian Stan isn’t holding it back when it comes to expressing his views on the US President Donald Trump. The 42-year-old actor criticised Trump in one of his recent interviews, calling him “narcissist" and suggesting that he must have watched The Apprentice more times than anyone else. “I would put money down, he’s seen it 100 f—–g times, of course, because he’s a narcissist," Sebastian said during his interview with Vanity Fair magazine. He added, “And I bet you there’s certain things he likes about it." When the interviewer asked the actor to elaborate, the Marvel star responded, “How he looked. He loses his humanity. I guess that’s essentially what happens."

Sebastian, who is known for diving deep into his roles, further explained that his approach to the character was deeply rooted in empathy, even though he played a polarising figure. “As an actor, all you’re trying to do is just look at these very human things and identify with them," he mentioned.
His performance in The Apprentice also earned him a nomination at the 97th Academy Awards for Best Actor, which ultimately went to actor Adrien Brody for his role in The Brutalist.
Despite his strong words against Donald Trump, Sebastian was not too concerned about a fallout with the US President. When the actor was questioned if he feared making it to the top of “Trump’s enemies list," the 42-year-old shrugged it off with humour. He said, “I don’t know, maybe if I win the Oscar, which is like 0.0000 percent."
In 2024, right before the release of The Apprentice, Donald Trump shared an angry post about the film directed by Ali Abbasi. Taking to social media platform, Truth Social, he called the film “fake and classless" and described it as a “cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job" before the US Elections. He said that The Apprentice is an attempt “to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
The Apprentice, released in October last year, also features Jeremy Strong as attorney Roy Cohn, Martin Donovan as Trump’s father Fred, and Maria Bakalova as Trump’s first wife, Ivana.
