Shreyas Talpade BREAKS Silence On Rs 9 Crore Scam Allegations: 'Completely False And Baseless'
Shreyas Talpade has issued an official statement denying any involvement in a multi-crore chit fund scam.

Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has responded to recent reports linking him to a multi-crore chit fund scam, calling the allegations “baseless" and “devoid of merit." The actor, best known for his roles in Iqbal, Golmaal, and Poster Boys, found himself at the center of controversy after being named in an FIR related to fraudulent financial activity allegedly involving ‘The Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society Limited’.
The company has been accused of defrauding residents of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh, promising to double their investments in a short time. Several media reports claimed that Talpade had associations with the organization. However, his team has now issued a three-part official statement to clear the air.

“It is deeply unfortunate that in today’s world, a person’s hard-earned reputation appears to be vulnerable to undue tarnishment by unfounded rumours. Recent reports alleging Mr. Shreyas Talpade’s involvement in fraud or misconduct are completely false, baseless and devoid of any merit whatsoever," the statement began.
Talpade’s team further explained that his involvement was limited to professional event appearances, “As a public figure, Mr. Talpade, like many other celebrities, is frequently invited to various corporate and annual events, which he attends as and when possible. Beyond such appearances, he has no association whatsoever with the company in question. Needless to say, Mr. Talpade has no nexus whatsoever with any fraudulent or unlawful acts as are being alleged and/or circulated."
In the final part of the statement, Team Shreyas Talpade urged people not to spread misinformation, “We urge everyone to verify facts before spreading misinformation and request that Mr. Talpade’s name be kept away from these baseless rumors. Mr. Talpade is a law-abiding citizen who remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, honesty and professionalism in all of his endeavours."
This isn’t the first time Talpade has faced legal scrutiny. In February 2024, he and veteran actor Alok Nath were named in another FIR filed in Lucknow in connection with an alleged ₹9 crore scam. The two were also mentioned in a multi-level marketing scheme in Sonipat, Haryana.
Despite the allegations, Talpade’s professional calendar remains packed. He is part of the upcoming ensemble comedy Welcome to the Jungle alongside Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon. He will also feature in Housefull 5, sharing screen space once again with Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan.
As investigations continue, Talpade’s team maintains his innocence and calls for responsible reporting and fact-checking before drawing conclusions.
