Slow Ticket Sales For Lee Min Ho’s Fan Meeting Sparks Online Debate
The fan meeting will mark the beginning of the actor’s MINHOVERSE Asia Tour.

Lee Min Ho, considered one of the biggest stars in South Korean showbiz, would have never expected to receive such a dull response on his comeback to TV. The 37-year-old actor, who has captivated his audiences for decades with his irresistible charm, striking looks and unforgettable performances, failed to make a splashing return after five years. His much-anticipated comeback to television with When the Stars Gossip did not quite make the impact many expected.
As a result, Lee Min Ho’s upcoming fan meeting in Seoul has also been bearing the brunt of it. The tickets for the fan meeting are selling slower than expected. Scheduled to take place at the Olympic Hall on March 8, 2025, the event will mark the beginning of the MINHOVERSE Asia Tour. With stops at Bangkok, Macau, Taipei, Jakarta, Manila, and Tokyo, this is his first Asia tour in eight years. Despite this, the ticket sales have been less than overwhelming.

As per a report by Koreaboo, bookings for the event began almost two weeks back, and as of February 23, KST, only 55% of the 2,500 available seats had been filled. The first-floor and central second-floor sections of the venue are yet to sell out, leaving many on the internet puzzled. For an actor of Lee Min Ho’s stature, who even made a comeback with a drama, a sell-out should have been inevitable, or so many had assumed.
While many could not wrap their heads around the underwhelming numbers, a section of his fans quickly came to the actor’s rescue. They defended the numbers with the argument that ticket sales over 1,300 is still an impressive feat, considering the actor was away from the K-drama scene for half a decade. Moreover, When the Stars Gossip’s storyline was also not on par with the actor’s other K-dramas, they argued.
Released in early January, When the Stars Gossip, which promised a unique love story, revolved around the fateful encounter of a space tourist and an astronaut on a space station. Despite its intriguing premise, the series struggled to leave an indelible mark on the audience, drawing strong criticism over its content. When the last episode premiered on February 23, many on the internet labelled the show as a “disappointment."
Speaking of Lee Min Ho’s work front, the 37-year-old actor will be next seen in the action-fantasy film Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. Based on a webtoon by the same name, the film will also star Ahn Hyo Seop, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, and Chae Soo Bin.
