At the first-anniversary meeting of his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, the actor confirmed that he will quit acting after his 69th film.
On February 26, the actor confirmed that ‘Thalapathy 69,’ titled Jana Nayagan, will mark the end of his time in the lights-camera-action world. Though several filmmakers have shown interest in collaborating with him, Vijay has made his stance clear. This announcement left fans both emotional and excited. Cinephiles are eager to see the actor’s final project before his full-time entry into politics.

As per a report by the Times of India, the actor addressed critics during the meeting who have questioned his transition. Vijay stated that he has taken this decision to fully commit to becoming a full-time politician and dedicate himself to the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Thalapathy Vijay launched his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in February last year. It is believed that he may contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election.
Coming to Jana Nayagan, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Thalapathy Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju, Monish Blessy, Teejay, and others in pivotal roles. Directed by H Vinoth, the film marks the maiden collaboration of the actor and director. In the film, Vijay is expected to be seen in a powerful role that aligns with his real-life political aspirations, blending intense action sequences with a socially driven narrative. Bankrolled by Venkat K. Narayana, Jagadish Palanisamy, and Lohith NK under the banner of KVN Productions, the film is scheduled to hit the big screens this October.
Talking about the technical team, the music of Jana Nayagan is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Sathyan Sooryan took charge of the cinematography, while Pradeep E. Ragav is working on the film’s editing.
