Manu Bhaker opened the medals tally with a bronze in the 10m Air Pistol women’s event and another one in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. Shooter Swapnil Kusale won a bronze in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions. The Indian men’s hockey team added the fourth bronze medal. Neeraj Chopra clinched silver in the men’s javelin throw. Wrestler Aman Sehrawat clinched bronze in the men’s freestyle 57kg category.

Manu Bhaker: 10m Air Pistol Women’s
Shooting prodigy Manu Bhaker opened the Indian contingent’s medal tally at the quadrennial in France as she picked up bronze in the 10m air pistol event for women.
The 22-year-old banished ghosts of the Tokyo Olympics, where she was undone by a pistol malfunction, as she finished third with a score of 221.7 after 22 attempts.

Manu scripted history in France as she became the first Indian woman to bag two medals at a single edition of the Summer Games with her bronze alongside compatriot Sarabjot Singh in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event.
Swapnil Kusale: 50m Rifle 3 Position
The shooting contingent made it three medals for India as Swapnil Kusale managed to come in third in the 50m Rifle 3 position event to become the first-ever Indian medallist in the event.
Team India: Men’s Hockey
The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Spain 2-1 in the third-place playoff to clinch the bronze medal. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh scored both goals to hand India a back-to-back medal in hockey after the Bronze from Tokyo 2020.
Neeraj Chopra: Men’s Javelin Throw
Neeraj Chopra bagged the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw event to become the first Indian track-and-field athlete to win two Olympic medals. The 26-year-old took the silver with his second-round throw of 89.45m. He had won gold in Tokyo with a throw of 87.58m three years ago. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem broke the Olympic record with a throw of 92.97m and went on to clinch gold.
Aman Sehrawat: Men’s Wrestling Freestyle 57kg
Aman Sehrawat defeated Darian Toi Cruz of Puerto Rico 13-5 to win the bronze medal in the Men’s Freestyle 57kg category. Aman had lost to Japanese top-seed Rei Higuchi in the semifinal bout to set up a bronze-medal bout.
