‘Lucky To Be Hosted By Reliance’: Tim David's ‘Badhiya’ Vada Pav, Partner Stephanie's Mehndi Design At India House

A taste of thali and vada pav to mehndi on the palm, Singaporean and Australian cricketer Tim David and his partner and hockey player Stephanie Kershaw got a glimpse of India’s culture at the India House set up by Reliance Foundation for the Paris Olympics 2024.
“I am fortunate that I have been given the red carpet of the India House. Steph got some mehndi design on her palm. I had a vada pav. The food was massive. I loved the soupmaking. We met the soup makers and had a full thali. I am very full. I am going to sleep now," said David.

“This is my first experience at the Olympics. It has been great. I am lucky to be hosted by Reliance and all their friends here. It is a good day for Indian fans with its hockey win. You can hear the party. It is a great initiative for fans to spend time in their community and their own environment," he said.

David, the explosive Australian cricketer, was also part of the Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians squad, while Stephanie, Australia’s star player, was competing at the Olympics. The couple also attended the pre-wedding bash of Anant Ambani in Jamnagar.
Excited about the entry of cricket in Olympics, Davis said, “Olympics is an exhibition of the best athletic talent from around the world. It is a great competition that brings a lot of people together. The support for cricket in India is crazing. It is now going to other Olympic nations. It is really exciting to see what cricket will look like at the Olympics and where it goes."

When asked about the format he would like to see at the Olympics, he said, “I suppose T20 is the most popular format at the moment you could play in the Olympics, but T10 would be interesting."
A fan of 100 m sprinting at the Olympics, David had a word of advice for the athletes. “Olympians shouldn’t be hard on themselves. They come to win the medal, but they should enjoy the time after the hard work."
Nita Ambani, IOC member and Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, felicitated medalist shooter Manu Bhaker and bronze medal-winning shooter Swapnil Kusale at the India House on Tuesday. Ambani said every athlete should be celebrated irrespective of results for their exemplary spirit. “Beyond medals and records, sport is a celebration of the human spirit, of character, of hard work, of our ability to confront all odds and never give up! Each and every one of our athletes has shown that spirit in Paris. Today we celebrate all of you, the champions of Team India!"
