Maharashtra CM Suspense: Ahead of the key NDA meet over the Chief Minister’s face in Maharashtra on Thursday, posters were put up in front of Devendra Fadnavis’ residence terming him as the “permanent chief minister" of the state.
The posters were installed in front of ‘Sagar’, the official residence of Fadnavis, by BJP workers from Niphad, Nashik, which also included a caption referring to a symbolic oath-taking in Marathi. “I, Devendra Sarita Gangadharrao Fadnavis," the poster read.

An all-important meeting of the Mahayuti leaders, including Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar, is scheduled to be held in the national capital today to decide on the CM post after the alliance stormed back to power in the state with a thumping majority.
On Wednesday, caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde cleared the air around the CM post and his future ambitions. At a press conference, he said that he dialled Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to convey that he would not be any obstacle in their decision-making regarding the CM post and he would accept their decision whole-heartedly.

“I have told the Prime Minister that if there is any problem in forming the government in Maharashtra because of me, then do not bring any doubt in your mind and whatever decision you take, that decision is acceptable to me. You are the head of our family. The way people of BJP accept your decision, we will also accept your decision in the same way," he stated.
He also dismissed the rumours of a rift among the Mahayuti allies over the CM post stating that the BJP’s decision is final.
He said that the Centre assisted Maharashtra in progress during the two-and-a-half-year period of his tenure.
“Amit Shah and PM Modi have fulfilled the dream of Balasaheb Thackeray to make a common Shiv Sainik, the CM. They have always stood with me," he said.
