Two Ireland-based Lotto players have become millionaires after winning huge prizes in the latest draw. The biggest winner secured a jackpot of €2,935,144 (approximately Rs 26 crore) by matching all five main numbers—05, 11, 26, 37, 46, 47—along with the bonus number 35. Another fortunate player won €1 million (approximately Rs 9 crore) in the Lotto Plus 1 draw, with the numbers 02, 10, 17, 27, 30, 33 and bonus number 36.

Apart from these major wins, over 53,000 players also claimed prizes across various Lotto and Lotto Plus draws. While the National Lottery has yet to disclose the identities of the winners, they will soon reveal the locations where the winning tickets were purchased.

Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the National Lottery, expressed excitement over the results, stating, “What an incredible night for our players! We’ve had not one, but TWO life-changing prizes won in the capital this week. This is truly amazing. In total, over 53,000 players secured prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws, including our two top prize winners. We are thrilled and can’t wait to see the joy this brings to our two new millionaires."

Meanwhile, a group of 34 female staff members from Penneys won €250,000 (approximately Rs 2 Crore). They discovered their big win after arriving at work. Out of the group, 23 excited members went to the National Lottery headquarters to collect the cheque, where each member was awarded €7,353 (approximately Rs 6 lakh) from the total prize.

One of the winners, Elizabeth Ryan, told The Sun, “I’ll go on a holiday with my husband and give some to my son and my daughter, who lives in Taiwan she does, so I’ll send some money to her. I haven’t told her yet. I’ll be letting her know to check her bank account."

Another said, “You should have heard the screams out of us. It was just after the Bank Holiday weekend and it was seven o’clock in the morning. It was really amazing. We did nothing that day at work. But this is kind of the first day we’ve all been together as a big group. I might go on a few holidays. It’s fantastic, it is. We’re all Joe Soaps, just going about our life, day-to-day working and then something like this happens. We got a party bus in from the shop. We went all out for the day that’s in it."

Elizabeth Ryan explained that most of the Lotto players are older staff members. They had arrived early for work and were attending a meeting with the store manager. During the meeting, their manager informed everyone that their numbers had been drawn and they won €250,000.
