Bought After 10 Years Of Saving, Japanese Man’s Rs 2.5 Crore Ferrari Burns Within An Hour Of Delivery
Photos and videos from the scene showed the owner standing a few metres away from the burning car.

A dream turned into a nightmare for a Japanese man after his brand new Ferrari caught fire just an hour after delivery. The car, a white Ferrari 458 Spider, went up in flames on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo’s Minato area. The car was worth around 43 million yen in Japan (approximately Rs 2.5 crore).
As per The Sun, the owner was identified as 33-year-old Honkon who is a music producer in Japan. He had spent 10 years saving up to buy the luxury vehicle. He finally brought it home on April 16 but the car was reduced to ashes within an hour.

The incident happened when Honkon was driving on the expressway. He noticed white smoke coming from the car, so he immediately stopped and got out. Within moments, the car caught fire and was soon engulfed in flames. Honkon managed to escape without any injuries. “I was really scared that it would explode," he told The Sun.
Emergency services reached the spot and were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes. But by then almost the entire car had burnt down. Only a small part of the front bumper remained.
There was no crash or accident before the fire started. The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. It is also unclear whether the car was insured.
Honkon shared the pictures of the burning car on social media. He posted that owning a Ferrari had always been his dream. “My Ferrari burned to ashes an hour after delivery. I bet I’m the only one in all of Japan to experience this kind of trouble," he wrote on X.

In a similar incident earlier this year, a brand new Lamborghini worth £300,000 (Rs 3.4 crore) burst into flames on Baker Street in Marylebone, London. It happened in the middle of a crowded street when many people were around. Shoppers and pedestrians watched in shock as the luxury car burned. A man carrying a backpack and holding a fire extinguisher had rushed to the scene and tried to put out the flames.
