LPG prices are regularly adjusted based on global crude oil fluctuations and economic factors. While commercial LPG rates have been revised, domestic LPG prices—used for household cooking—remain unchanged in this update, ensuring stability for residential consumers.
LPG prices differ across states due to local taxes and transportation costs. Though the latest reduction in commercial LPG rates is marginal, it offers some relief to businesses reliant on these cylinders.
Recent LPG Price Trends
On March 1, 2025, oil marketing companies (OMCs) raised commercial LPG cylinder prices by Rs 6 in major cities. According to Indane, a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder increased from Rs 1,797 to Rs 1,803. This followed a Rs 7 reduction in February, highlighting ongoing market volatility.
Commercial LPG price shifts directly impact restaurants, hotels, and other businesses that depend on these cylinders. While the latest Rs 41 reduction provides some relief, previous price hikes have strained budgets, particularly for small businesses reliant on LPG for daily operations.
