Suryakumar Yadav Uses Dialogue From MS Dhoni's Biopic To Narrate Heroics Against LSG
SKY used a dialogue from the 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' to describe the situation of the last few overs.

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav was elated to see MS Dhoni in his iconic form. The Chennai Super Kings captain produced a finishing masterclass to help his team edge past the Lucknow Super Giants in the last IPL fixture on Tuesday, April 14. He struck an unbeaten 26 off just 11 deliveries while stitching a match-winning 57-run partnership with Shivam Dube. After CSK won the away game in Lucknow by five wickets, Surya appreciated the efforts by Dhoni and Dube via a social media post featuring a Bollywood twist.
The Mumbai Indians star referred to a dialogue from Dhoni’s biopic, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story‘, to describe the situation of the last few overs in the match. The movie sheds light on several childhood stories of the former India captain.

One of them shows Dhoni, portrayed by actor Sushant Singh Rajput, pulling off a near-impossible chase along with a teammate in an inter-school tournament. Surya replaced the on-screen characters with real-life Dhoni and Dube to anticipate the conversation between the two in the dying moments of the chase.
“Mahi bhai- Strike dega toh tum bana lega? Dube – Try kar lenge. Mahi bhai – Try karna hai toh hum hi kar lete hai. Tum bas runout mat karwa dena. (Dhoni – Will you be able to win the match if I give you the strike? Dube – I can try. Dhoni – If someone needs to try, let me do it. You just don’t get me run out)," Suryakumar Yadav wrote on his Instagram story.
MS Dhoni walked into the middle following the dismissal of Vijay Sankar, with CSK reeling at 111/5. The Yellow Army needed 55 runs in the last five overs. While Dube held the wicket at one end, the Chennai skipper kept the scoreboard ticking with the necessary boundaries.
Dhoni batted at a strike of over 230, hitting four fours and one maximum. The 43-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was also named the Player of the Match for his valuable cameo. Dube finished as the top scorer for CSK, registering 43 runs off 37 deliveries.
Despite their commendable win over Lucknow, Chennai stay at the bottom of the IPL standings. They have managed just two victories in seven matches so far this season. CSK will face arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in the next outing on April 20.
