Every king ultimately falls, and it seems as if the ‘Egyptian King’ Mohamed Salah is headed towards the same fate at Liverpool, who are yet to offer the forward a contract extension.

Salah is having a wondrous season for the Premier League leaders, having registered 10 goals and six assists in 12 league games so far, including a match-winning double at Southampton on Sunday.

When asked about the state of his future in Liverpool and their lack of initiative to sign him further, Salah stated: “Of course, I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.

“We’re almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club…So, I’m probably more out than in.

“I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see."

Liverpool are playing a dangerous game with their core players Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah all running on contracts expiring in the summer, and the Reds seemingly taking no initiative yet to secure them for the foreseeable future.

When asked about the playres concerned, Liverpool boss Arne Slot earlier this month said, “All three are playing really well at the moment and there are ongoing discussion with the people Virgil says he has to talk to, and that’s not me as you know. I talk to him about other things."

Salah, speciafically, has been an unstoppable scorer for the Reds following his transfer from AS Roma and has collected medals in the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Emirates FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup and FA Community Shield.
