Mumbai Weather Updates: The people of Mumbai witnessed gloomy skies due to a cyclonic circulation affecting the state. The system, reaching 1.5 km above sea level, altered wind patterns. The IMD has predicted that Mumbai’s gloomy weather will persist for three more days until the cyclonic winds pass. Additionally, the city is likely to experience light thunderstorms this afternoon.

According to Sushma Nair, an India Meteorological Department scientist, “The changed wind patterns merged moist air from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea, causing cloudy and overcast weather."

The weather department also warned that “Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, ranging between 30-60 kmph, are expected in regions such as the Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada. Hailstorms are likely in Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada till April 4."

The much-needed showers are likely to bring down temperatures slightly, providing a temporary escape from the sweltering conditions gripping the city.

With the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds, the IMD has issued an orange alert for several parts of Maharashtra on Wednesday. Residents have been advised to stay updated on weather warnings and take necessary precautions.
