Ridhi Dogra has spoken out following the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22 that claimed the lives of several innocent tourists. The actress, who plays a supporting role in the upcoming film Abir Gulaal starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her anguish and called for stronger condemnation from within the Muslim community.

“I think it’s about time the good Muslims stepped up and rejected the monsters and CALLED THEM OUT! Break ties with people and places that remain silent or deep down have ties elsewhere. Because repeatedly Terror is coming from one place. They’re ruining humanity. They’re ruining faith," she wrote. She also added that Kashmir had been flourishing under new development plans and that it was time to “Stop being gracious to monsters in the name of humanity. Stand up for India.."

Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor also issued statements expressing grief over the attack. Fawad wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time." Vaani echoed the sentiment, posting, “Have been numb, at a loss of words since the time I have seen the attack on innocent people in Pahalgam. Gutted. Devastated. My prayers are with the families."

Directed by Aarti S Bagdi, Abir Gulaal has faced multiple hurdles ahead of its May 9 release. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had earlier objected to its release in the state, citing Fawad’s Pakistani nationality as the reason. With the current backlash intensified by national grief, the film’s release faces an increasingly uncertain path.
