Actress Refuses To Withdraw Harassment Complaints Against Prominent Malayalam Actors
The victim said she will not be withdrawing her complaint against seven people, which include the actors Mukesh, Jayasurya, Balachandra Menon and Edavela Babu.

In the past few months, the Hema Committee brought to light the heinous acts going on behind the curtain in the Malayalam film industry, which quashed the dreams of numerous names. Following the report, a 51-year-old actress has refused to withdraw sexual harassment cases against some big names in the industry. The decision comes after she made that announcement to withdraw the cases due to lack of support only a few days ago.
The victim said to be a native of Aluva, said that she will not be withdrawing her complaint against seven people, which include the actors Mukesh, Jayasurya, Balachandra Menon and Edavela Babu. According to her, no one should experience the tragedy she had to go through; this is also one of the main reasons behind her decision to continue the fight.

Talking to the media, she said that it was her family who encouraged her to keep fighting and reconsider her decision to withdraw the cases. She said, “My husband called me and urged me to proceed with the cases. He assured me of full family support, saying there was no reason to back down after the harassment I endured."
On Friday, she revealed how reluctant she was to continue the fight due to “lack of support and protection from the Kerala government" and “mental exhaustion." The victim also alleged that attempts were made to falsely implicate her in a POCSO act, following the complaints she had made. She stated, “I was portrayed as wrong. No proper investigation has been conducted nor have I been asked about the complaint."
The harassment allegations were brought to light amid the reports and details of the Hema Committee, which uncovered the widespread harassment and exploitation of women in the industry. The committee was formed by the Government of Kerala and its report was submitted to the Kerala High Court and then handed over to the Special Investigation Team, which was tasked with investigating the sexual abuse complaints in the industry.
