Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the iconic Gangs Of Wasseypur franchise has a cult following, and the actors’ recent reunion picture left fans nostalgic. The picture also sparked speculations about whether the makers might be returning with a third instalment of the franchise.
Jaideep Ahlawat, who played Shahid Khan in the 2012 film ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ took to his Instagram stories recently to post a photo with his co-stars Manoj Bajpayee (Sardar Khan) and Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Faizal Khan). While the picture alone had fans going berserk, Jaideep further heightened their excitement by posting the picture with one of the most iconic lines from the film! He wrote, “Baap ka, Dada ka, Sabka…" followed by three heart emojis, laving fans nostalgic. Needless to say, the picture went viral on social media, and soon, fans started speculating whether Gangs Of Wasseypur 3 is on the cards! While many were hopeful about a possible third instalment, a few others pointed out that it could have been a simple meet-up among cast members.

While no official announcement regarding the third instalment of Gangs Of Wasseypur has been made by the makers, the possibility has left fans excited and curious.
Gangs Of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap, was released in two parts in 2012. The film features Manoj Bajpayee as Sardar Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat as Shahid Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Faizal Khan. The cast also included Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi and Tigmanshu Dhulia. The film went o to achieve a cult status, and has a massive fan following.
In 2022, as the film completed 10 years, Jaideep Ahlawat spoke to News18 Showsha about how this film was extremely special for him. “I always say that Gangs Of Wasseypur was my first knock on the doors of Hindi cinema, jaha bohot saare logon ne pehli baar yeh feel kiya that there is an actor around jinko aap try kar sakte ho (where many people felt for the first time that there is an actor around who can be cast). Woh film bohot special rahi hamesha se, aur aaj bhi utni special hai mere life mein. (The film has been special always, even now it’s a special film to me)."
“Length wise, my role wasn’t that big but that’s the beauty of good writing and good direction that length of the role doesn’t matter. The created the impact that it was supposed to create," he added.
