Having navigated several challenges in his career—including a difficult period that led to his time in rehab—Singh has made a strong comeback in the music industry. Sharing a motivational note on his Instagram stories, he simply wrote, “Learn to walk alone. One day onwards, the world will follow you."
Luvkush Kumar, who filed the petition against Honey Singh’s song Maniac, argued that the singer used Bhojpuri lyrics in a way that objectified women. In response, the court, led by Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, stated that obscenity is not linked to any religion.
As per The Hindu report, the court said, “What is this Bhojpuri vulgarity? Vulgarity does not have any religion or region. It should be unqualified. Never say Bhojpuri vulgarity. What is this? Vulgar is vulgar. Obscene is obscene. Tomorrow you will say Delhi is vulgar. Vulgarity is vulgarity. No region. We cannot issue any writ. Writs are issued against states and state instrumentality. Your matter is not in public law. It is in private law. If you are hurt by obscenity, then there is a remedy under the criminal law system. Lodge an FIR or a complaint."
Honey Singh is currently on his Millionaire India Tour, which started in Mumbai on February 22, followed by shows in Lucknow, Delhi, Indore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chandigarh.
