The Mollywood brotherhood is alive and thriving! Ahead of the much-awaited release of Empuraan, Mammootty sent his best wishes to the team. Taking to social media, the legendary actor gave a heartfelt shoutout to director Lal (Mohanlal) and Prithvi (Prithviraj Sukumaran).
Mammootty wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Best wishes to the entire cast and crew of #Empuraan for a historic victory! Hope it crosses boundaries across the world and makes the entire Malayalam industry proud. Rooting for you, Dear Lal and Prithvi."

Director and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who helms the project, responded saying, “Nothing… absolutely nothing more special than wishes from the Patriarch of Malayalam cinema! Thank you Mamukka! (sic)."
The political action thriller is eyeing for a grand release on March 27. The much-awaited film will have its first show at 6:00 am IST on March 27, 2025. It will also have screenings worldwide, aligning with their respective time zones. The highly anticipated L2: Empuraan is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, bringing back Mohanlal in his iconic role as Khureshi-Ab’raam, aka Stephen Nedumpally. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is directing once again, will also reprise his role as Zayed Masood. Others in the cast are Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Jerome Flynn, Indrajith Sukumaran, Eriq Ebouaney and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
L2: Empuraan is eyeing a grand release tomorrow, March 27. As fans await its premiere, the buzz around the film is at an all-time high. It has already achieved a significant milestone by crossing the Rs 60 crore mark in the opening day pre-sales, worldwide gross.
In a post, shared on Instagram, the makers dropped the pre-sales numbers of L2: Empuraan and wrote, “More incoming. 60+ Crores worldwide gross through advance sales for #L2E #Empuraan. In theaters from March 27th."
According to sacnilk.com, L2: Empuraan has become the first Malayalam film to hit the Rs 50 crore mark in sales even before its release. Several reports suggest that the film could become the fastest Malayalam film to mint Rs 100 crore worldwide.
