Ranbir Kapoor's YJHD Co-Star Poorna Jagannathan Says He Gave Her Money To Produce A Play: 'His Generosity…'
Poorna Jagannathan praised Ranbir Kapoor, her co-star in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, calling him generous. Ranbir was the first investor in her play, Nirbhaya.

Actor Poorna Jagannathan, Ranbir Kapoor’s co-star in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, has hailed the actor, calling him ‘generous’. She said Ranbir was the first investor in a play she produced after doing the Ayan Mukerji film. The actor further mentioned how YJHD helped her bond with Ranbir and Ayan. In the 2013 film, Poorna portrayed Riana Sarai, a tour conductor who assisted Ranbir’s character, Bunny, in landing his dream job.
Poorna spoke about her friendship with Ranbir Kapoor. She told ANI, “I loved working with Ayan and Ranbir. It was such a privilege. It was such a gift…Right after I did Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani, I went and produced my own play called Nirbhaya. And Ranbir was its first investor. He was the first one who gave me money to get this play kicked off. And we toured that, we ended up touring that play globally for three years."

She further added, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was an important movie for me to be part of because of my friendship with Ranbir and his generosity, my friendship with Ayaan. It had a significant impact on my life. It was an iconic movie."
On the work front, Poorna Jagannathan is currently receiving praise for her performance in Deli Boys, a comedy series about two Pakistani-American brothers, played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh, who unexpectedly inherit their late father’s illegal empire. Produced by 20th Television and presented by Onyx Collective, Deli Boys is now streaming on JioHotstar.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. He will share screen space with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, his fans are also anticipating his portrayal in Nitesh Tiwari-directed mythological epic Ramayana, one of his most awaited upcoming projects. After his current line-up, the actor will start shooting for Animal sequel, Animal Park.
