A Death in the Gunj
After a plethora of supporting roles, Vikrant Massey received his first career-defining role in Konkana Sen Sharma’s directorial debut. In the lead role of Shyamal Chatterjee, a shy young Indian student who finds himself grappling with his inner demons and the intricacies of family relationships during a road trip. Besides praise from audiences and critics alike, the film also got him the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.

Despite playing a supportive role as a thief and friend of the protagonist (Ranveer Singh), Vikrant Massey as Devdas Mukherjee added more depth to the narrative, making the audience empathise with his character. He shared the screen with Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the film.
Haseen Dillruba
