Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the construction of Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya during a groundbreaking ceremony on August 5, 2020. The temple, designed in the traditional Nagar style, is currently under construction and will have a length of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet. It will be a three-storied structure, with each floor standing 20 feet tall. The temple will have a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. In the main sanctum sanctorum, a statue of the childhood form of Lord Ram will be installed, and the first floor will house a Shri Ram Darbar. Statues of deities, gods, and goddesses will adorn the pillars and walls. No iron will be used in the temple's construction, which will employ traditional and indigenous techniques from India. The grand consecration ceremony for the Ram Temple is scheduled for January 22, 2024. Less
