The Panvel-Karjat Suburban Rail Corridor, an integral part of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP-III), is nearing completion. As of October 2024, 67 percent of the project, with an estimated cost of Rs 2,782 crore, has been completed. • Earthwork: 20 lakh cubic metres of soil have been filled.
    • Tunnels: Excavation work for all three tunnels has been completed, and expansion work is currently in progress.
    • Bridges: Out of the 47 bridges planned, 35 (29 minor and 6 major) have been constructed.
    • Road Over Bridges (ROBs): Four ROBs have been constructed, and work is progressing rapidly at key locations like Mohope and Kiravali.
    • Pune Expressway Underpass: The construction of the underpass has been completed.
