Most Wickets in IPL 2025, Purple Cap: Noor Ahmad picked up two wickets for 28 runs in four overs for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday (March 30) to re-take the No. 1 position in the list of leading wicket-takers in IPL 2025. The 20-year-old cricketer from Afghanistan, who was signed for Rs 10 crore by the five-time champions in the IPL 2025 mega auctions, has nine wickets to his name in three matches played so far in the 18th edition of the world’s richest franchise cricket league.
Delhi Capitals fast bowler Mitchell Starc is in second place with eight wickets in two matches. The left-arm pacer from Australia dismissed five SRH batters for 35 runs in 3.4 overs on Sunday and won the Player of the Match award.

CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed leapfrogged LSG’s Shardul Thakur to take the No. 3 position. The left-arm pacer from Rajasthan finished with figures of 2 for 38 in four overs against RR at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. He has six wickets to his name in three matches played so far.

Apart from Starc, Kuldeep Yadav also impressed with his performance in the match played between DC and SRH in Visakhapatnam. The 30-year-old spinner from Kanpur got rid of three SRH batters for 22 runs in four overs. He is fifth on the list of leading wicket-takers. Kuldeep picked up two wickets in DC’s first match of IPL 2025 played against LSG.
Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed four CSK batters for 35 runs in Rajasthan Royals’ third league stage match to take his tally of wickets to five in two matches, and he is now in seventh position. He is followed by CSK’s Matheesha Pathirana (4 wickets from two matches).
