Allrounder Shardul Thakur has made quite a start to his IPL 2025. From going unsold at the mega auction to taking six wickets in two matches, Thakur has been one of the top headline-makers of the tournament so far. The 33-year-old joined Lucknow Super Giants as a fast-bowling replacement after Mohsin Khan was ruled out due to an injury. He has already proven his worth with the new ball, baffling quality batters with his variations.

In his first game of the season, he took two wickets against Delhi Capitals before adding four more against Sunrisers Hyderabad for which he won player-of-the-match award.

After the match, Avesh, while having a chat with Abhishek and Ravi Bishnoi, quipped that only Thakur and God know where he will land his deliveries.

“Only God and Shardul know where he’ll bowl. No one else knows where he’s going to bowl," the 28-year-old said.

After dismissing Abhishek with a slower delivery, Shardul had left-handed Ishan caught-behind down the leg-side. He also excelled in the death overs, taking the wickets of Abhishek Manohar and Mohammed Shami. Thanks to his superb bowling, LSG kept SRH to 190 and went on to win the away fixture by five wickets.

It was the second four-wicket haul for Shardul in his IPL career. He currently remains second in the Purple Cap race. Chennai Super Kings spinner Noor Ahmad tops the chart, having picked seven wickets in two outings. Shardul will look to dethrone the Afghan youngster when LSG face Punjab Kings on April 1 at home.
