Who Is Prince Yadav? 23-Year-Old Delhi Lad Puts Up Inspiring Performance vs SRH
Prince Yadav had left the Lucknow Super Giants scouts impressed with his hit-the-deck ability in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League last year.

Lucknow Super Giants pacer Prince Yadav would have come into the Indian Premier League with a lot of hopes, only to get a reality check in the opening game against the Delhi Capitals, where he went 47 runs in his quota of four overs and had a nightmarish start to his IPL career.
With Avesh Khan cleared to play, there were chances that Prince would be benched from the second game onward, but the Lucknow management persisted with him.

The one wicket Prince picked? Travis Head, who was batting on a 28-ball 47 and looked all set to take Hyderabad past the 200-run mark, and even further.
Head looked in ominous form as he took the attack to the opposition and used his brute power to deal in fours and sixes.
But Head’s luck ran out when Prince disturbed his timbers to pick up his first Indian Premier League wicket.
The Delhi-based bowler had left Lucknow scouts impressed with his hit-the-deck capability in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League in 2024 and hence, was handed his first IPL contract when the team signed him at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Prince had bagged 13 wickets in 10 matches during DPL. In the last season, he played for the Rishabh Pant-led Purani Delhi 6 and stood out with his capability to change pace with little variation in action.
Prince picked 13 wickets in 10 games, which earned him a white-ball debut for Delhi, for whom he had played two Ranji Trophy matches. He finished as his team’s highest wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 11 wickets in six matches at an average of 22.
Prince played his first T20 against Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy a day before the IPL 2025 mega-auction and picked up two big wickets in a comfortable Delhi victory: a set Nitish Rana and Sameer Rizvi.
The next day, Lucknow shelled out Rs 30 lakh to sign Prince. He picked up 11 wickets in eight matches in SMAT, again finishing as Delhi’s highest wicket-taker, at an impressive economy of 7.54.
