‘1,2,3 & Stab…’: Shocking Kerala Nursing College Ragging Video Shows Victim Tied, Being Tortured

Disturbing and horrific footage of brutal ragging at the Government Nursing College hostel in Kerala’s Kottayam has surfaced on social media platforms where first-year students were brutally thrashed and assaulted by third-year nursing students.
The video, which has been allegedly recorded by the accused students themselves, shows the torture junior students were put through.

As per the visuals, one of the victims can be seen with his hands and legs tied to the ends of a cot. One of the accused repeatedly stabbed him with the pointed end of a compass. He is heard shouting in pain, while the accused laughed and mocked him.
According to the footage, victim was restrained with a towel, hands and legs tied, while senior students inflicted wounds on different parts of the body using a divider. Each time they stabbed, they counted aloud, “One, two, three." Despite the junior student’s screams of pain, the seniors continued their cruel treatment, mocking him by calling him “sexy body". The video also shows them pouring lotion into his mouth and eyes, taunting him about whether his eyes were burning.
At one point, dumbbells were placed near the victim’s genitals. Additionally, a cloth clip hangs from each nipple and one of the tormenters is seen tugging at them.
One of the accused then announced, “I will draw a circle", before stabbing the victim’s stomach with a divider, leaving him injured. Despite the victim crying out, “Enough, brother, it hurts", the seniors did not stop and continued their sadistic laughter.
The horrific case came into limelight after three first-year students of Government Nursing College launched a police complaint against the abusing seniors. They claimed that the torture started in November 2024 and continued for about three months.
According to the complaint, the students alleged that they were forced to stand naked, clicked, and were subjected to brutal acts using dumbbells meant for weightlifting. It further alleged that the seniors regularly extorted money from them to buy alcohol, specifically on Sundays.
The five accused students, identified as Rahul Raj, NS Jeeva, NP Vivek, Rigil Jeeth and Samuel Johnson, were arrested on charges of physically harassing their juniors.
A case against the arrested students was registered under Sections 118(1),308(2),351(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and under Sections 3 and 4 of The Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act.
The brutal incident has sparked outrage, with authorities and student bodies demanding strict action against the accused. The incident came days after the suicide death of a 15-year-old schoolboy in Kochi, allegedly due to ragging. Mihir Ahammed’s mother Rajna PM has alleged that her son was beaten up, verbally abused and forced to lick the toilet seat at school and these acts drove him to the edge.
