Hyderabad Woman Jumps Off Moving Train To Save Herself From Rape Attempt, Sustains Grave Injuries
The woman was travelling alone in the ladies' coach of a train when a man boarded the train and demanded sexual favours from her, the police said. Teams have been formed to nab the accused.

A 23-year-old woman jumped off a moving train in Hyderabad to save herself after a man allegedly attempted to rape her in the coach, Government Railway Police said on Monday.
She sustained injuries in the process and is now undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.

What Did The Victim Say?
In a statement to the police on Sunday, she said that the incident took place on March 22 evening when she was travelling alone in the ladies’ coach of the MMTS Multi-Modal Transport Service train from Secunderabad railway station to Medchal.
Detailing the incident, she said that two female passengers who were also travelling in the same coach de-boarded the trail at Alwal railway station, after which one unidentified man, aged nearly 25 years, approached her and demanded sexual favour. As she refused, he attempted to force himself upon her. To save herself, she jumped off the moving train.
Due to the impact after the jump, she sustained bleeding injuries on her head, chin, right hand, and on her waist. She was shifted to a state-run hospital by some passersby, a GRP official said.
Police Launch Manhunt
The police said that they have constituted four teams to nab the accused.
They are exploring CCTV footage, eyewitnesses, human intelligence, and scientific evidence to reach the individual. The condition of the woman is said to be stable and she is currently under observation.
The police said that the woman has confirmed that she would identify the man if she saw him again. They further mentioned that the woman was completely frightened that the man would rape her due to which she jumped off the train.
Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have registered a case under Section 75 for assault or use of force to insult a woman’s dignity and Section 131 for using criminal force under the BNS law.
The woman, who works in a private company, said that on March 22, she had traveled from Medchal to Secunderabad to get her mobile phone display repaired. The investigation is still ongoing.
