Police tried to disperse the crowd and used light force to bring the situation under control.
“For several days, abusive language has been used on social media, and threats were being made. For the past two days, there were talks of surrounding the house," MP’s son, Ranjit Suman told news agency PTI.
“The police administration was aware of this, but no action was taken. Instead, they (attackers group) were patronised. They attacked with sticks, rods, and swords," he added.
This Is Just A Trailor
Karni Sena leader Mahipal Makrana said, “Today, a small protest was staged outside Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman’s house by Karni Sena members. During the protest, some chairs were broken, but nothing big happened. This is just a trailer. We should have given them a strong answer way earlier. We are very tolerant, but if people like him say offensive things about our great leaders like Rana Sanga.

Akhilesh Yadav Condemns Attack
Samajwadi Party chief and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav condemned the attack on Suman’s residence, saying, “When the violent incident of vandalism at the house of a PDA MP by some people could not be stopped even in the presence of the Chief Minister in Agra, then zero tolerance has to be zero. Is the Chief Minister’s sphere of influence decreasing day by day or is no one listening to the ‘outgoing CM’ now? If he is still the Chief Minister, then take immediate action and identify the culprits with the help of AI and punish them, otherwise it will be assumed that all this against the PDA MP has happened with his permission," he said in a post on X.

Earlier he issued a statement over Suman’s remarks against Rana Sanga.
Yadav said that the party does not question the bravery and the patriotism of Mewar King and none of their objective is not intended to insult the Rajput community.
“The Samajwadi Party believes in social justice and the establishment of an egalitarian society. We want to ensure that even the weakest individuals receive respect. Our objective is not to insult any historical figure. The Samajwadi Party does not question the bravery and patriotism of Mewar’s King Rana Sanga," he said in a post on X.
SP MP Awadhesh Prasad also condemned the vandalisation and said, “Ramji Lal Suman is a senior leader of our party… I strongly condemn the act of carrying out such an incident at his house and insulting him. I demand that the government not encourage such elements that disrupt peace and harmony."
What Stoked The Controversy?
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha on March 21, Suman called Rana Sanga a “traitor" and said that Hindus are his descendants.
During his speech in Parliament, Suman had said, “Indian Muslims do not consider Babur as their idol. They follow Prophet Muhammad and the Sufi tradition. But I want to ask, who brought Babur here? It was Rana Sanga who invited Babur to defeat Ibrahim Lodi.
“So, if Muslims are called the descendants of Babur, then Hindus must be the descendants of traitor Rana Sanga. We criticise Babur, but why don’t we criticise Rana Sanga?" he had said.
Rana Sanga from the Sisodia clan of Suryavanshi Rajputs was the ruler of Mewar from 1508 to 1528.
