Lord Ram's Wedding Procession To Arrive In Janakpur On This Day; 40 Pandits To Perform Ceremony

There is a lot of buzz around Lord Ram and Mata Sita’s wedding from Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya to Janakpur in Nepal. Every year, on the fifth day of the Margashirsha month, devotees celebrate Vivah Panchami, the day of the divine wedding. Thousands of temples across the nation celebrate this day with great devotion.
The Barat of Lord Ram has departed for Janakpur to marry Goddess Sita, with great pomp and show. Around 500 devotees from Ayodhya, who have come from various corners of the country, have set out for Janakpur Dham as baraatis in the wedding of Lord Ram. The wedding procession is expected to reach Janakpur Dham on December 3, where the people of Janakpur will also welcome the procession.

This is the first time such a grand celebration of Lord Ram and Mata Sita’s wedding is being held, after the Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. Forty Vedic Brahmins from Tirupati will be performing the marriage of Sita-Ram in Janakpur Dham. These Vedic Brahmins will directly reach Janakpur to conduct the marriage rituals. The preparations for the marriage from Ayodhya to Janakpur are such magical that they evoke memories of the Ram Barat from the Treta Yuga.
Rajendra Singh Pankaj, Central Minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, shared that for the marriage of Lord Ram, the procession has left for Janakpur Dham from Ayodhya on four chariots. Lord Shri Ram and his brothers will travel on two chariots, while another chariot will carry water from 51 major pilgrimage sites across India and Nepal. After the wedding, Lord Sita-Ram will be anointed with this sacred water.
According to reports, 111,111 laddus have also arrived in Ayodhya from the Mahakaleshwar temple in Madhya Pradesh, sent by the Chief Minister of the state. These laddus will be distributed among the devotees as prasad after the marriage of Lord Sita-Ram. Additionally, about 40 Vedic Brahmins from Tirupati will perform the marriage ceremony in Janakpur Dham.
