The hospital was set up to provide eye care at affordable rates, ensuring that even the underprivileged have access to cutting-edge treatment. The foundation stone for the hospital was laid in 2017 and its construction was completed in 15 months.
Equipped with modern technology, the eye hospital now specialises in cataract surgeries, corneal transplants and retinal treatments among other advanced procedures. The institution also stands as a testament to the Sangh’s social initiatives, emphasising healthcare as a key pillar of nation-building.

What Does Madhav Netralaya Stand For?
A senior RSS functionary said: “Madhav Netralaya has rapidly emerged as a leading eye hospital in Nagpur, establishing itself as a trusted destination for ophthalmic care within just three years. Catering to patients from Nagpur and across central India, the hospital is known for its ethical, accessible, and cost-effective approach to eye care."
He added: “With a commitment to providing modern ophthalmic services under one roof, it has built a strong reputation based on patient satisfaction and expert medical advice."
The hospital’s ‘Seva Model’, a unique initiative fostering a chain of giving, has enabled thousands of patients to receive quality eye care at minimal or no cost. From January 2019 to January 2024, the Netralaya, in collaboration with SAKSHAM, organised 32 free eye camps, screening over 3,175 patients and providing essential treatments to those in need, the document stated.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the hospital offers advanced tertiary eye care services, making it the only hospital in central India to provide laser cataract and LASIK surgeries using the Femto-second laser machine. The hospital specialises in a range of high-precision ophthalmic treatments, ensuring that patients receive the latest and most effective eye-care solutions.
