Meerut Murder Case: Muskan Slit Husband’s Throat And Lover Sahil Severed Head, Say Officials
A Merchant Navy officer- Saurabh Rajput- from Meerut was murdered, chopped up and the 15-odd pieces of his body were put into a drum and sealed with cement, the police said.
Meerut Murder Case: In a shocking revelation, the officials said that Muskan Rastogi, the woman who brutally killed her Merchant Navy officer husband, had bought two knives for Rs 800 and practised stabbing around eight days before the crime.
The officials further said that Muskan had also purchased a cut-throat razor which was used to sever Saurabh’s head from his body, reported NDTV.

The investigation into the case brought to fore an extramarital affair between Saurabh Rajput’s wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla.
As per the report, Muskan mixed sleeping pills in Saurabh’s food on March 4. Once she dozed off, Muskan stabbed him thrice with a knife. She then used the cut-throat razor to slit his throat. Her lover, Sahil, then severed his head from the torso using a knife. The two then chopped off the body into 15 pieces.
What Post-Mortem Revealed?
The post-mortem report of former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput has revealed gory details of how brutally he was killed and how his body was chopped into pieces.
Both accused had allegedly repeatedly stabbed Saurabh until life was drained from him on March 4, the police said
The 29-year-old officer’s head was severed from his body, both hands were cut off from the wrist. His legs also bent backwards, suggesting that the duo had made an attempt to compress the body in the drum, according to the autopsy report.
Shock and excessive bleeding have been said as the cause of the death in the report.
Saurabh Wanted To Take Daughter To London
The probe further revealed that Saurabh’s London visa was about to expire and he had planned to renew it during this visit home.
As per the report, Saurabh wanted to take Muskan and their daughter to London with him. But she refused saying that she wanted to stay in Meerut, presumably to be with her lover.
Saurabh had then decided that he would take his daughter along and had also applied for a passport for her.
Saurabh Rajput’s Brutal Murder
Saurabh Rajput and Muskan Rastogi married in 2016 for love after which the Merchant Navy officer left his job to spend more time with his wife. He also distanced his family for her. In In 2019, Saurabh found out that Muskan was having an affair with his friend Sahil which led to tension between the couple. Eventually, Saurabh decided to rejoin the Merchant Navy.
Saurabh’s daughter turned six on February 28 for which her father returned home from London. Muskan and Sahil had decided to murder Saurabh, as per their statement to the police. Muskan mixed sleeping pills in Saurabh’s food on March 4 and once he was asleep, she and Sahil murdered him with a knife. Following this, Muskan and Sahil chopped up the body, put the pieces in a drum and sealed it with wet cement in order to dispose of the body.
When people asked about Saurabh, Muskan told them he had gone to a hill station. She and Sahil then travelled to Manalu and uploaded pictures from Saurabh’s phone on his social media handles- with the aim of misleading people. When Saurabh did not take any calls from his family members for several days, they filed a police complaint.
