“It is such an unfortunate statement, and it is not legally valid also. It is only to try create a chasm in society and I am totally against it," Hasan told News18 in Parliament on Friday.
“Namaz is only a 10-minute thing…we respect every religion. Every religion has processions on the road and we are not against anything. This country is known to accommodate, but now where this government is taking this country is just sad to see," she said.

STAND AGAINST EID?
Hasan also said it was very unfortunate that “we have divided religions and we have divided festivals now". She said the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a stand against a particular festival.
“It is a ‘New India’ but not our India, it is not the India I had grown up. It is sad to see. I hope that these governments understand that the beauty of India lies in its diversity, in its various festivals and its various religions," Hasan told News18.
Many other opposition MPs from Uttar Pradesh have criticised the directive.
Awadhesh Prasad, Ayodhya MP from SP, told News18 that the Constitution guarantees the freedom to pray and it is not proper to interfere with the same. “Eid prayers are for everyone’s welfare. Why object to how namaz is done," Prasad asked.
