Eid-ul-Fitr 2025: According to an official, Mumbai police enhanced security throughout the city and stepped up patrolling in areas such as Dongri after receiving the alert.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2025: Security has been heightened in Mumbai in view of social media posts warning of ‘Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts’ during Eid celebrations in “areas like Dongri" by “illegal Rohingya/Bangladeshi/Pakistani infiltrators." Notably, Eid in India is likely to fall on Monday, March 31.

The warning came via a post on X on Thursday morning. The social media user also tagged Navi Mumbai Police in the post. Responding to the post, Navi Mumbai Police said, “Thank you for contacting Navi Mumbai Police, please send your mobile number for further information regarding your tweet."

    After receiving an alert from their Navi Mumbai counterparts, Mumbai police enhanced security throughout the city and stepped up patrolling in areas such as Dongri, according to an official, who added that no suspicious or unusual activities had been reported so far.

    “Apart from Mumbai police personnel, the Crime Branch, the Anti Terrorism Squad, and Special Branch are also on heightened vigil," the official informed.

    Meanwhile, a similar warning was also issued through an X post for Delhi. Taking to X, the social media user warned of ‘Hindu-Muslim’ riots, arson, and bomb blasts in areas like Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, and Jahangpuri by “illegal Rohingya/Bangladeshi/Pakistani infiltrators."

    The holy month of Ramadan will end with the moon sighting in India. The moon is likely to be seen on March 30, also marking the beginning of the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar, Shawwal.
