Reacting to the chilling Meerut murder case, religious preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri – also known as Bageshwar Baba – on Thursday jokingly said, “Right now, the blue drum is famous in India, and many husbands are in shock."

The religious preacher was referring to the plastic drum which was used for burying body parts of victim Saurabh Rajput in cement.

Speaking to the media, Bageshwar Baba, with a laugh, said “Bhagwaan ki kripa se humari shadi nahi huyi (Thank God, I am not married)."

He added that this case reflects the fault in the upbringing of the woman who killed her husband and added that the teachings of Shri Ramcharitmanas should be followed by families to instil proper values in their children.

“The Meerut incident is unfortunate. Declining family system, the advent of Western culture and the affairs of married men or women are destroying families. This shows a lack of values. If anyone’s son or daughter is doing such acts, it means there is a lack of upbringing. Therefore, to build a cultured family, every Indian must take the help of Shri Ramcharitmanas," the preacher told reporters.

In the Meerut murder case, wife Muskan Rastogi has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband Saurabh with the help of her lover Sahil Shukla and then chopping up his body into 15 pieces and keeping them in a blue drum filled with wet cement.

In the investigation, the police found that Muskan and Sahil were drug addicts. Saurabh, who was working in London, was murdered when he came back home to celebrate his six-year-old daughter’s birthday.

The murder came to light when Muskan made the confession in front of her parents, who reported her to the police. Currently, the two accused have been kept in a Meerut prison.
