The teaser of upcoming Netflix series Black Warrant, starring Zahan Kapoor, is finally out! It will release on 10th January.
Zahan Kapoor will soon be seen in the upcoming Netflix series ‘Black Warrant’, directed by celebrated filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane. The show marks the filmmaker’s return to long-form storytelling after hits like Sacred Games and CTRL. The series is all set to release in January. Now, the makers have finally unveiled the first teaser of Black Warrant. Zahan Kapoor plays a rookie jailer named Sunil Kumar Gupta in India’s most unforgiving prison, Tihar Jail.
The teaser of Black Warrant begins with a man asking Zahan Kapoor’s character Sunil Kumar Gupta why he wants to do this job, he says that its because being a jailer is one of society’s most important jobs, and is an opportunity to do something for the nation. The teaser then shows Sunil being told that the job requires someone tall and strong, and that he won’t be able to survive as a jailer here. Determined, Sunil Kumar Gupta sets out to root out the systemic problems plaguing Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Netflix shared the teaser of Black Warrant with the caption, “India ki sabse khaufnaak jail mein ek naya jailer aaya hai Based on certain real events. Produced by Applause Entertainment alongside Andolan Productions and Confluence Media, the series adapts the book ‘Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer’ by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury. The series will release on January 10, 2025 on Netflix.
Who is Zahan Kapoor?
For the unversed, Zahan Kapoor is the grandson of the late Shashi Kapoor. He is Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor’s second cousin. He made his Bollywood debut with the 2022 film Faraaz, directed by Hansal Mehta. The film was based on Nuruzzaman Labu’s 2017 book Holey Artisan: A Journalistic Investigation.
