The death of the legendary actor-director Manoj Kumar last week, left the entire nation grief-stricken. The actor, who was 87, breathed his last at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. After his death, good friend and veteran actor Dharmendra, aged 89, accompanied by his staff, arrived at Manoj Kumar’s house. Meanwhile, Manoj Kumar’s brother, Manish Goswami, recently spoke about his life and legacy. He shared that Kumar and Dharmendra were very close, often sharing clothes and supporting each other.

In a chat with Vickey Lalwani, Manish Goswami said, “He was very close to Dharmendra ji; they used to struggle together at Ranjit Studios. One day, both of them even decided to leave Bollywood and go back to their respective villages due to lack of work."

    Manish said that Dharmendra always addressed Manoj Kumar as “Hari" instead of his stage name. “They used to share clothes, and he only addressed Manoj as Hari; he never used his stage name. So, when he came for the prayer meet, he said, ‘Hari, tu chala gaya mujhe chhod ke (Hari, you have left me behind’). He was also close to many other people, such as Pran, Prem Chopra and Kamini Kaushal," he said.

    After Manoj Kumar’s death, Dharmendra posted an old photo on Instagram, showing him and Manoj Kumar smiling while holding a trophy. Dharmendra wore a white shirt, red tie, and grey suit, while Manoj Kumar had on a white shirt and trousers. “Manoj, mere yaar tere saath beeta har pal bahut yaad ayega," he wrote in the caption.
