‘Didn’t Think I Needed It’: Nani On His First-Ever Body Transformation For The Paradise Role
The director of Nani’s upcoming film, Srikanth Odela, convinced him to take on the challenge and undergo the drastic body transformation for his character.
Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise has been creating buzz ever since it was announced. From the first look to comparisons with the Hollywood film Mad Max, fans are eagerly waiting to see what the film has to offer. One of the major highlights is Nani’s decision to go through a physical transformation for the role—something the actor has never really considered necessary before.
The film is being directed by Srikanth Odela, who previously worked with Nani on Dasara. According to Nani, it was Srikanth who pushed him to take on this new challenge.

In a recent interview, Nani opened up about the experience. He said, “Srikanth is full of energy and has a very original vision. Once he decides on something, he puts his heart into it. He’s the one who convinced me to start working out. I never thought body transformation was needed for my career. People would ask me when I’d do one, but I didn’t think it was necessary. Srikanth, however, said, ‘No, I want this.’"
Nani added that it’s important to have people around who see more potential in you than you do yourself. “You need people like that—people who push you to do more. At this point, Srikanth was exactly the person I needed. He came to me with something wild. We’re starting the shoot very soon, and I can’t wait to bring this vision to life."
The Paradise marks Nani’s reunion with Srikanth Odela after the widely praised Dasara. The film marked Odela’s strong directorial debut with Dasara and now, with the upcoming film, he plans to expand his horizon and prove his skills. Produced by SLV Cinemas, The Paradise will be released next year on March 26, 2026.
Nani has been ruling the industry with his back-to-back successful films like Dasara, Hi Nanna and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, all of which have garnered responses from both fans and critics alike.
