A representative for comedian Luenell stated that her actions on Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney were purely "playful" and that she had "no intention" of making 31-year-old Pete Davidson uncomfortable.

Comedian Luenell has publicly apologised to Pete Davidson after an overly touchy exchange during a recent interview left him visibly uncomfortable. “I admit I was tickling Pete’s leg during a segment of ‘Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney’; however, I did not mean to make Pete uncomfortable. I sincerely apologise. It was all done in jest," Luenell, 66, said on Friday.

She added that she hoped he would forgive her, jokingly saying, “I’m still willing to go out on a date with him if he so chooses. And I promise I won’t touch him again unless he wants me to!"

Her representative later clarified that Luenell was simply “being playful" and had “by no means" intended to make Davidson, 31, feel uneasy, as per People.

The incident occurred on comedian John Mulaney’s new talk show during a blindfolded segment, where Luenell ran her hand up Pete Davidson’s leg. This came after she questioned him about his ex-girlfriends, including Kim Kardashian. A source told People that while Davidson was fine discussing his past relationships, the mood shifted when Luenell’s actions made the room tense.

“Pete was fine answering any questions. There was no issue with Kim, and he loves Mulaney. Everyone on the show was having a great time with him until this happened," the insider said.

According to the insider, “The whole set felt uncomfortable." They described the moment as “really inappropriate" and suggested that Davidson went along with it at the moment to avoid disrupting the live show.

And viewers? They caught on instantly. “People believe they can treat Pete differently and view him as fair game for these ‘jokes’ because of their perception of him, but it was just wrong and shows an unfortunate double standard," the source explained.

Davidson, however, had already shown some discomfort earlier in the interview when Kardashian’s name was mentioned.

“To me, you’re just an average guy. I want to know the mystique. Now, you’ve had Kim K …" Luenell told the SNL alum.

At that moment, Davidson immediately let out an “oh, God" and buried his face in his hands. Davidson and Kardashian, who first met when she hosted SNL in 2021, recently crossed paths again at the show’s 50th anniversary special.

“He has nothing but love and respect for Kim. They are on good terms. He hopes everyone can move on," an insider told Page Six at the time.
