Meanwhile, it was just yesterday that Munawar spoke against a recent order issued by Meerut Police, which warned Muslims not to offer Eid prayers on public roads. The directive, aimed at the final Friday prayers of Ramzan on March 28 and Eid-Ul-Fitr, threatened violators with legal action, including the cancellation of passports and driving licenses.
Reacting to the orders, Munawar took to his Instagram stories and expressed frustration. “30 minutes ki namaz ke liye yeh? Kya ab koi bhi festival Bharat ke roads pe nahi hoga? (This for a 30-minute prayer? Will no festival in India now be allowed on the roads?)" he wrote.
On the personal front, Munawar Faruqui married Mehzabeen Coatwala on May 26, 2024. It was said to be a close-knit affair which only their family members attended. In the photos from the intimate wedding ceremony that leaked online, the couple was seen cutting a cake together. Later, a report by Times Now claimed that Hina Khan played cupid for Munawar and Mehzabeen.
