Nawazuddin Siddiqui Promotes Film Wearing Black Band In Solidarity With Pahalgam Victims: 'We're Angry'
Nawazuddin Siddiqui wore a black band in solidarity with Pahalgam terror victims, calling the attack deeply painful and demanding justice.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all geared up for his upcoming biographical drama Costao, but the actor’s recent appearance was marked by more than just film promotions. On Friday, while interacting with the media, Nawazuddin wore a striking black band around his arm, a symbolic gesture of mourning and solidarity with the victims of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
Dressed in a black shirt and a white-and-black checked suit, the actor’s armband drew attention. Speaking to India Today, Nawazuddin opened up about the emotions he’s been carrying since the tragic incident. “It happened just recently and has been on our minds since then," he said. “There is a lot of anger in us towards what happened. Bohot dukh bhi hai (There is also a lot of pain)."

When asked how he believed such anger could be channelled, Nawazuddin responded honestly, “Humare mein gussa hai, bohot zyada gussa hai but hum kya kar sakte hai? (There is a lot of anger in us, but what can a normal citizen do?). We trust our government. They are already taking action, and we hope justice will be served."
The brutal attack in Pahalgam, which took place at the popular Baisaran meadow, left 26 people dead, including two foreign tourists. Armed terrorists had opened fire on innocent holidayers, leaving the country in shock and grief.
Several members of the entertainment industry have voiced their outrage. Actor Hina Khan shared an emotional note on Instagram, calling it a “dark day" for the nation. “Nothing means anything if we fail to accept the reality," she wrote. Condemning the terrorists, she added, “The way this attack was conducted by heartless, inhuman, brainwashed terrorists who claim to be Muslims is beyond appalling."
Hina further expressed sorrow, writing, “As a Muslim, I want to apologise to all my fellow Hindus and fellow Indians."
As the nation mourns, voices from Bollywood and television continue to condemn the violence and demand justice for those who lost their lives in this tragedy.
