The show recently took a generational leap and introduced Pranali Rathod and Akshay Dev Bindra as the leads. As the drama unfolds on the screen, Akshay who plays Raunak, demonstrated his everlasting commitment to his profession by continuing to shoot for the show despite suffering a hairline fracture.
According to a report by Etimes, Akshay injured his finger while filming a dramatic fight sequence at a bar recently, in which his character Raunak was supposed to step in and protect Prarthana (played by Pranali Rathod). Despite all safety measures, an accident resulted in a small hairline fracture. Despite the team’s offer to give him a break, the actor’s resilience and passion for the show made him choose to keep on working.

Speaking about the incident, Akshay stated, “In the heat of the moment, I didn’t realize that it would be a fracture, but as soon as the pain started intensifying, I realised it wasn’t something normal. The doctors confirmed that it was a fracture, but that hasn’t stopped me from shooting. The show must go on, right? The cast and crew have been incredibly supportive, taking great care of me while ensuring that I get the necessary rest and medication. I am truly grateful for their concern and best wishes. Knowing that so many people care for me keeps me motivated and makes this journey even more special."
Kumkum Bhagya depicts an intriguing story of two friends. Akshay Dev Bindra plays a wealthy man, whereas Pranali Rathod is portrayed as a modest girl who lives a humble life.
Kumkum Bhagya premiered in 2014. Since its debut, the show has remained popular due to its captivating storyline and unique characters. The Ektaa Kapoor-produced daily soap originally starred Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha in main roles, introducing various fresh faces and multiple generational leaps later on. After Shabir and Sriti, Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul took up the rom-com drama. Lastly, Rachi Sharma and Abrar Qazi played the leads before Akshay and Pranali taking over.
