Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Samridhii Shukla Suffers Minor Burn On Sets, Calls Herself ‘A Silver Spoon Child’
Samridhii Shukla's character, Abhira, had to prepare Armaan's (Rohit Purohit) favorite meal, kachoris, to commemorate their first meeting anniversary.
Samridhii Shukla has garnered a massive fan following after taking the lead on the popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. As per the latest reports, the actress sustained a minor burn injury while filming an important sequence. The event took place while she was shooting a cooking scene for an upcoming episode. Despite the injury, the actress continued to work after receiving first-aid and fortunately evaded severe harm.
As reported by India Forums, during the sequence, Samridhii Shukla’s character, Abhira, had to prepare Armaan’s (Rohit Purohit) favorite meal, kachoris, to commemorate their first meeting anniversary. As part of the shoot, the actress had to cook the kachoris in hot oil. While rehearsing the sequence, oil splashed into her hand, resulting in a minor burn.

Despite her injury, the actress remained professional and resumed shooting. Speaking about the incident, Samridhii told the publication, “Thoda ek splash aaya tha kyunki mujhe garam tel mein kuch bhi talne ka jyda koi experience hai nahi. Main bahut silver spoon child hoon I think. Mummy papa ne mujhe kabhi jyda mehnat karne nahi di, toh us chakkar mein thoda hogaya tha but it is all safe now." (A bit of hot oil splashed on my hand because I don’t have much experience with deep frying. I think I’m a silver spoon child—my parents never made me do much work. But it’s all safe now.)
This was not the first time Samridhii Shukla sustained burns on set. Earlier, during a TV actress’s round table, she shared about how she suffered burn injuries twice while working on her first show Saavi Ki Savaari. Sharing about her experience, she stated, “I got burnt twice on my last show. It was also my first show and I have always been a very emotional person and I understood that the show must go on. You have to separate your emotional self from work. Every time you look at yourself in the mirror and this is where the power lies, you show your scars and you normalise it for others. You don’t have to be prim and proper all the time."
Meanwhile, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is presently in its fourth generation, with Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit as the leads. Other cast members include Romiit Raaj, Garvita Sadhwani, and Anita Raj, among others. The show, produced by Rajan Shahi for Directors Kut Productions, is one of Indian television’s longest-running and most popular serials.
